Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books is a voluntary school and district wide reading competition for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  At Cedar Way students who want to participate get themselves into teams of 4 in the fall and start reading the Best Books for the year.  Each book needs to be read by at least one member of the team for the team to be successful.  As the year progresses, the library will provide ways for the students to increase their knowledge of the books.  The school competition will be in early to mid-May.  The top two teams will advance to the district competition at the end of May.  To have this be a successful experience students need to be persistent, hard-working, and cooperative.
